Congratulations to Annie Zhou on her admission to School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in Fashion Design with a scholarship for $15,000 per year $60,000/4 years! Additional admittance to: Fashion Design (Otis College of Art and Design - scholarship $16,000/year $64,000/4 years) Since Annie came to West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD), she has risen to the challenge of returning to WCAAD and completing an excellent well-rounded portfolio for University. Annie previously took classes as a youth and returned to the Portfolio Program to produce a high-quality portfolio. Throughout the years she’s demonstrated determination to excel at her interest. Annie’s ideas and execution have been enhanced through her determination to become a better artist technically, by learning more about a variation of aspects, including research and gaining skill sets, to help her for a continuing educational path. Annie’s strength comes from the capability to generate drastic designs that she can finalize in a form whether it is out of paper fabric or another media. Annie is active in class as well as outside continuously working on her sketchbook, creativity and exploration. Her life drawings were very experimental while encompassing true form. Further, she has been part of her school activitiy such as: a member of her school’s Basketball team two yrs. She participated in speech and debate for four yrs., Vice Pres. Junior and Sophomore year. Annie was an ICC representative, and also President of United Nations her senior year. Since she was a young student in our academy, Principal Wang remembers a young 8-year-old making fashion inspirations. Annie is one of these students that has a drive and goal oriented seeing her dream until the end. She gained great benefits through our program and we strongly believe she will commit and be an open to everything she can learn at SAIC. Her skill set and ambition will guide her to become an asset to the program. We wish her the best in her journey.
