Processing is a flexible software and a language for learning how to code in a visual art environment. The emergence of Processing makes us realize again: Programming is not just the work of engineers. Programming can provide an effective way for the majority of artists and designers and all those who want to achieve painting, animation and interaction programmatically. We no longer need to be constrained by production tools and software. With the help of Processing, we can give full play to our creativity and ideas. Thousands of students, artists, designers, researchers and amateurs use Processing to learn and produce creative visual works. WCAAD now offers Processing online class. Some students have already taken advantage of the fantastic online classes with successful outcomes. During the period of school closure due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the online course tuition fee is only charged at half price. Target groups---- Art Fans: Break the traditional artistic expressions and use numbers and codes to create your own works of art! Music Fans: Make music visible! Processing easily converts various signals into visible images so that your favorite music can be seen and touched! Programming Fans: Lets you quickly understand and master the logic of programming and learn programming in an artistic way. What knowledge do you need? You can learn Processing if you are over 15 years old or have a certain basic mathematical foundation. You can understand coordinates and basic geometric knowledge. Processing was born in the aesthetics and computing research group of MIT Media Lab which has always been committed to the fusion of technology, media, science, art and design. Therefore, processing integrates artistry and science: it uses digital art as the background, performs programming in a visual manner, simplifies grammar based on the Java language, and has the characteristics of cross-platform. What can Processing do? By learning processing, you can create artistic visual images (static images, motion graphics, interactive programs, etc.). In the world of processing, you can make your own painting software to create unique works of art. These works can be printed as decorative paintings to decorate your home. You can also post interesting and varied images of your design on social media to show your friends your creativity. In the future, as you learn more, you can also create dazzling animations for your favorite music or your own music to make the music visible! In the process of in-depth contact, you can also understand the operating principle of everything, create various particle systems, and simulate various natural phenomena. Use these interesting code exercises to stimulate interest in learning programming. What benefits can Processing offer you? Many top design schools at home and abroad, such as New York University, Parsons School of Design, Royal College of Art, Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, China Academy of Art, Tongji Design and Creative College, etc., all offer creative programming-related courses. Processing has become an essential tool for designers and new media artists. Whether you are learning a new programming language, engaging in artistic creation, or joining a real project in the future, your algorithmic thinking will make you more efficient and occupy an absolute advantage. Processing will be a new choice for you to become an artist and designer. Do not miss out the opportunity! No matter where you live and how far away you are from our school, now your children are able to take the art classes of West California Academy of Art and Design, the WASC accredited school. WCAAD Student Jineni Mei Receives Six Top College/University Offers with Scholarships of $172,0005/15/2020 Congratulations to Jineni Mei on her decision to accept Otis College of Art and Design as her school of choice for Fall 2020 with a Fashion major. She received a scholarship of $16,000/year $64,000 /4 years. Additional colleges include:
Since Jineni came to WCAAD, she demonstrated a talent that is exceptional. Jineni’s ability to generate and experiment with styles and execute her ideas fully is her best attribute. Her creative and passion for art, has propelled her to be as active in class, as well as engage outside the classroom. She has sought knowledge, not only here, but outlets that aided her to form a foundation that led to a brighter future. Her desire to seek a full educational experience has triggered her passions in art and design, and she applied it to her work that aided her portfolio journey. Outside the class room Jineni actively participation in volunteering activities and organizations such as a music association or volunteering at a local MTAC giving time and helped in a local thrift store. Specifically, she organized, sorted, and displayed merchandise aiding her in her visual merchandising and perspective and connecting with cliental. She is sincerely concerned about getting to know people while better informing. She sought to better herself in every aspect and not give in when others judged her. Her work seemed driven by a social criticism and identity. Specifically, surpassing challenges and criticism that she sees reflected upon current generation and problematic societal critiques. She wants to make a voice and influence though Fine art and ultimately translated in her Fashion designs. I have seen Jineni blossom into a more critical artist who, not only makes work out of necessity but, to engage truly with the world. Her motivation, ambition and goal-oriented drive will guide her to become a successful fashion design in the near future.
