Two students from West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD) received the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
Jenny Guan,17 years old,won the 2022 President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award. The prize package includes: the official President’s Volunteer Service Award medallion, a personalized certificate of achievement and congratulatory letter signed by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.

We are proud to see that our “Draw and Raise Funds for the K9s” city council recognition ceremony on Oct. 17 was covered by the LA Post. Meaning so much to our school, this will give us a huge boost to make greater contribution to the society. I want to once again thank all the students, teachers, parents and community leaders who have taken time and effort taking part in this art charity sale event. San Gabriel council members, police department officials and other city leaders attended the recognition ceremony.

For Queens work: In this oil painting, I aim to portray the theme of cyber violence using powerful symbols and evocative imagery. The heart, delicately rendered at the center of the canvas, represents the people who suffer from the cruelty of cyber violence. Surrounding the heart are piles of rubbish and debris, which serve as symbols of the toxic and harmful internet environment that perpetuates such violence.
My target is to advocate mental health and network environment health. The annual EDI Media Children’s Drawing Contest announced the winners. 37 students from West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD) won the awards.
