Four Students from West California Academy of Art and Design Win 2017 Wei-Chuan Red Lucky Envelop Design Contest

Christine Huang, Ying Yi Gao and Natalie Park won Children Group (age under 12) Excellence Award with $80 scholarship, and Derek Zhao won Teenager Group (age 12-18) Excellence Award with $80 scholarship.

The competition is held by Wei-Chuan, a US-based food company, and World Journal New York.  The theme is not strictly limited but should be related to the cultural connotation of Red Lucky Envelop.  The purposes of this art competition are to increase the exchanges of art and culture in the community, to help promote and spread the spirit of art and culture in the society, and to encourage young students in creating arts and developing their individual creativity, leading to better lives with cultural diversity for all.

Candidates are required to design two sides of the red envelop, both front side and back side, with a standard format of W7”X H14”.  The criteria of judging include creativity, color, the techniques of the drawing, and how related the content is to the themes of the contest. 9 winners are selected for each age group.
