Since July 6th, 2017, West California Academy of Art and Design has officially become the Supplementary Education Center/Program Fully Accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). It is the decision of the WASC Commission to grant West California Academy of Art and Design (grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12th) Accreditation Status. WASC is one of six official academic bodies responsible for the accreditation of universities and schools both inside and outside the United States. Accreditation means that a school is a trustworthy institution for student learning with high standards of educational quality and academic integrity. Accreditation is a voluntary dual-purpose process that schools (1) must be worthy of the trust placed in them to provide high-quality learning and (2) clearly demonstrate continual self-improvement. An accredited school is focused on a mission and goals for students; it is student-oriented and examines its students’ performance continuously; it accepts objective evaluation from a team of outside peer professionals trained by ACS WASC; it maintains a qualified faculty within an effectively organized school; it collaboratively assesses the quality of its educational programs on a regular basis; and it plans for the future. ACS WASC accreditation is a school improvement process and therefore is a process that serves as the foundation for quality education. An accredited school is a statement to the broader community and the stakeholders that it is trustworthy institution for student learning and committed to ongoing improvement. The public is assured that accredited institutions are evaluated extensively and conform to expectations of performance and quality. Because accreditation requires continual self-evaluation and monitoring of its programs and operations in relation to the impact on student learning and periodic external review, the public can be assured that the educational quality of programs and services offered by the institution are current, reflect high standards of quality, and are offered with integrity. Students can be assured that the institutions in which they seek to enroll have been reviewed and the educational programs that are offered have been evaluated for quality. This is an important milestone in the continuing to grow and success of West California Academy of Art and Design. Accreditation shows the Academy’s commitment to providing the highest levels of education to students and parents, and the same high level of conduct in business practices. Accreditation by WASC is proof of this commitment, and signifies that the Academy has met the rigorous standards of an internationally recognized party. The team of the Academy are proud to have met the challenge of accreditation, and intend to consistently uphold the principles of quality improvement for students in the future. This WASC accreditation channels a new period of growth for West California Academy of Art and Design, and anchors and buoys its international reputation throughout the world. West California Academy of Art and Design has 100% college admittance rate. As the Supplementary Education Center/Program Fully Accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, West California Academy of Art and Design is committed to providing the highest levels of education to students and parents. Graduation from a WASC accredited school will open doors to graduates applying to top-notch universities around the world, and greatly enhance their chances of obtaining scholarships.
