Ashley came to West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD) about six months to create a portfolio that was noteworthy along with guidance of her portfolio package. Her dedication and experimentation with styles and research along with her work, demonstrated a mature evolution as evident in her process work, as well as her colorful experiences outside class.
Her creativity and passion for art propelled her to be as active in class and engage with the world through different venues and practices. In her time here she gained skills that took her further in her continuing education.
In the end of the program she was proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Most appealing, is her determination to finish multiple tasks on time, her drive and observations informing the work. All, giving her a quality and an edge among her peers.
Ashley’s drive for educational perspectives led her to: COC, UCLA Film Camp, UC Berkeley EmbARC Design Academy filmmaking program. Furthermore, partook in programs on environmental design including architecture, urban planning, and fabrication. Her design work was published in Lit Magazine at WRH including website with AP Scholar Award with Distinction.
She is an excellent student-athlete; a member of Swim Team Scholar-Athlete Award finalist and setting 3 school record, and Piano10 CM award.
In her spare time, Ashley has also formulized a community build for veterans, volunteered in Rocket Kids Camp, helped read English stories to Chinese kids at the local libraries, and joined clubs: Just Coding Things Club helping with planning, creating logos, and active Member of NHS/Key Club. She participated in several events with 200 hrs. community service: Santa Clarita Grocery focusing on distributing food to the less fortunate and helped design a more efficient operation. She is the founder of an Art Interest Group Museum of the Month introducing people to museum and writes blog posts on the subject, National Art Honor Society designing stickers, Weekly Bible Study Youth Teacher introducing art to bible stories. Ashley has worked experience in Six Flags Magic Mountain as a Face Painter and managed to take 12 AP courses maintaining an overall GPA of 4.67.
In addition, her free time is spent learning Journaling, Voice Impressions, Poetry, Art History, and printmaking. Ashley is passionate about being part of the bigger picture and excited to continue in her education. She is a model for others striving for greatness.
