No matter where you live and how far away you are from the school, now your children are able to take the art classes of West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD), the WASC accredited school. WCAAD provides online art classes for students starting March 20, 2020. The WCAAD faculty and teachers have prepared online lessons that are accessible at home and nurturing to students. As long as you have Internet access, you can register the online art classes for your children right away. During the period of school closure due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the online course tuition fee is only charged at half price. Don’t miss out the opportunity! The platform WCAAD uses for online class is Zoom. It is highly advised to have the Zoom platform downloaded on your computer or phone. This is because,if accessed Zoom through a browser, the gallery view ( the view in which you can see the instructor) can’t be seen. Next, create an account with Zoom with an email that is most convenient for you or your child’s use. During the time of your lesson, the instructor will send out a Zoom invitation. Please note: Instructors will be sending out a confirmation email 24 hours prior to your scheduled time to notify students materials needed beforehand. If you would like your children to take the online art classes, please contact the Academy via: 1. Phone: 626-235-2135 2. Email: [email protected] 3. WeChat by scanning the QR code or searching "myartedu" The Academy will give you instructions of online class registration, info of class time and other related preparations in detail. The Academy highly encourages parents and students to try out these online classes. These are available resources for parents and students who wish to continue to learn art and create productive and proactive art during the period of school closure due to the COVID-19 epidemic. The Academy understands that not every student will have internet access or available parent supervision to enroll in these online classes, which is why these online classes are optional. For those who prefer in-person classes, your tuition will be on pause until the school reopens. For any further questions, WCAAD staff will happily share more information as it becomes available. The WCAAD team will continue to support the community as best they can.
