Starting January 2020 West California Academy of Art and Design will offer Children’s Painting Course for students age 6-12. The objective of this course is to develop children's creativity through painting courses and teach them relevant painting knowledge and skills, such as acrylic, watercolor, gouache, etc. Students will learn how to combine painting skills to create artworks such as still life, landscapes, animals and portraits. Students will also learn about color mixing, light and shadow, proportion and space, and three-dimensional composition. The importance and necessity of the course: in the transitional stage (6 to 12 years old) students might be temporarily unable to adapt to the “boring” skill training and art knowledge learning. The fear of difficulties may cause psychological frustration and even make some of the students lose interest in art. It is an effective way to combine children's creative drawing and professional painting skills for a smooth transition, ready for the next step of art education. The themes of children's painting are relatively broad and the curriculum is flexibly arranged. In addition to the traditional subjects such as portrait, landscape, animals and landscape, this course gives students more space for their independent creation. Students can try a variety of painting methods, feeling the charm of color creation and color pigments. They will be more confident in professional painting in the future. Enroll now!
