Syracuse will be welcoming WCAAD student Tinon Chan for Architecture 2023! Additional Colleges accepted: SAIC (School of Art institute Chicago) scholarship-$36,000 Boston Architecture College scholarship -$24,000 CCA Pratt Jenny Wu has been admitted to CCA for Architecture 2023! She was awarded the Creative Achievement Award receiving $80,000. Additional Colleges accepted: Otis College of Art and Design Presidential Scholarship-$72,000 Parsons – scholarship $76,000 Pratt – scholarship $22,000 The New School Tinon Chan is one of the most admirable and diligent students that I’ve had the good fortune to work with. In such a short amount of time, Tinon has produced an impressive amount of work that exhibits genuine creativity, authenticity, and ambition. I find her to be very independent as she completes tasks and is enthusiastic about the next. This goes far beyond her, as she motivates her classmates. She is an excellent communicator and can bring people together creating a sense of family. She is very inquisitive about her passion, architecture, despite playing with fine art, fashion, and illustration, and even tattoo art! During the time that I’ve had her for class, I’ve noticed an amazingly rapid amount of growth in a short span of time. Her open-mindedness, inquisitively, and receptiveness to instruction have been some of the main contributing factors of her rapid growth. It was a great pleasure to get to know her as she was very open and gained my respect and of her peers. Tinon started out knowing little about architecture just an interest, and I have been witnessed to how she was able to immerse completely in the field as well as, balance out grades, attend extracurricular activities, and create a strong portfolio at our academy. It speaks to her character and determination as to how she was able to develop strong foundation in only a year. Her youth was filled with tragedy, as she described to me losing her father early on and seeing her mother struggle. Yet this was the driving force for her to become an architect in a field dominated by men. This daily motivator pushes her further into her dreams and goals. I can only begin to say how much she embodies the spirit of excellence, dedication, and a hardworking innovative individual. I am proud to call her my student and friend. I have utter faith that she will be a shining credit to Syracuse. With that, she has my complete endorsement and highest recommendation. We await greatness form her. ![]() Jenny has reached great strides in her journey creating unique concepts and designs. Recalling back to when she first began, this student was very shy and introverted. I witnessed a change in Jenny as she went through the program. She was able to communicate her ideas and present to her audience a well thought out vision. I always felt Jenny was never deterred from her ultimate goal of architecture. I really believe her creative ambition were a challenge to her as she explored the best solutions often leading to finished architectural designs. She has gained skills that will take her far in her continuing education as she is proficient in; Procreate, Sketchup, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Blender. In life drawing she struggled, as most designers do, yet demonstrated growth working ever so hard. She was relentless and determined to work as hard as the others. She is perseverant and committed to take advantage of educational opportunities like many other. Most appealing, is her willpower to finish multiple tasks on time. Her drive & experience informing the work giving her an edge among her peers. Reviewing her work, I enjoyed her model making skills. She was able to manipulate material and exploit its uses in interesting ways for one-of-a-kind outcomes. As a student, she also questioned all possibilities and never made haste decisions. She researched methodically before she began assignments. She loved to take in vast amounts of knowledge paving the way for her to develop a kind of method and style. Jenny made many friends and was very respectful gaining a kind reputation. Outside class she taken violin for the last three years and volunteered wherever she can. Most notably was internship assisting people with their tax returns. She is a member of the speech and debate team and competed in contests. Jenny had the opportunity to TA for kindergarten during summer and lastly was part of IVT dance performance. I truly believe Jenny has the motivation to make an impact as she is developing to a fine young designer as she works every day to make her dream come true. Jenny was a dear to work with.
