Yuki Gu will be pursuing her dream at Georgia Tech majoring in architecture for Fall 2023. Additional Colleges Admitted: Pratt scholarship $88,000 SCAD-scholarship $76,256 SCI -ARC scholarship $40,000 Ever since Yuki enrolled at our Academy, she demonstrated talent & ambition that is exceptional. Yuki’s drive for educational perspectives led her to seek out additional studies outside her home in Georgia state. She was an online student for the most part. Last Summer, she flew to California staying months focusing on our summer intensive where she led the group staying up hours after class finishing assignments with speed and thorough research and efficiency. Yuki participated the annual Health Fair Drawing Contest and won the Senate Award. Yuki has the ability to generate & experiment with styles and spends hours doing vast research. Her work demonstrates a mature evolution as evident in her process, as well as her colorful experiences outside class. Her creativity & passion for art, has propelled her to be as active in class & engage with the world through different venues & practices. She has gained skills that will take her far in her continuing education, proficient in; Adobe CAD, Illustrator, & Photoshop Sketch Up and Blender. Most appealing, is her determination to finish multiple tasks on time. Her drive, observations and societal needs inform her work. I know her concerns for future design buildings include sustainable materials and the connection between space and resident to increase the sense of relationship with natural light, sense of warmth, spectacular aesthetics, and a sacred functional space. Furthermore, she partook in studies, where her concern was on environmental design including architecture, urban planning, & fabrication. Yuki is a hidden jewel; she has grown immensely technically and creatively. Another observation I witnessed, was her capability to excel with other mediums and classes. Oil paint, life drawing, Fine Art, and others. She was endlessly focused to compete for her betterment, yet always there to give students advice on her own knowledge and open to take critique. Yuki’s ability to focus and enhance technically proves her determination, commitment, and drive. She has shown proactive qualities and leadership. When I ask her to finish projects she will never disappoint. I rely on her to set an example for the other students. She is passionate about her future endeavors and a model for others striving for greatness. I have seen Yuki blossom into a more critical artist who is on her way to create innovative designs.
