This artwork was created by WCAAD 14-year-old student Qier Wang. She wrote in her description: “I am always grateful for my supporters. In the painting, up the left corner is my mom's hand with her purple nail polish. There are also my family members' and my art teacher's hands. They are all pulling off the gauze, and the gauze is me. I have clear water all over me means my passion for swimming and how I was almost nothing before my parents started to build me little by little. I also have colors on me means how important art is for me, and the colorful memories that family gave me. I am soft, graceful, intangible, ethereal, pulled, fixed, made, and sanded by the people who helped and supported me.” Qier Wang recently won the national awards in the 2022-23 Scholastic Art and Writing Award. She was awarded the following: 1 Golden Key Award, 2 Silver Awards and 2 Honorable Mention Awards.
