Lucy’s ideas and executions have been enhanced through her determination to become a better artist technically through process and the ability to generate and experiment with style. She always completed her ideas fully with integrity and quality. Lucy’s portfolio artwork Lucy’s illustration demonstrates experimentation as she takes on a challenge in attempting to merge a 2D painting and a 3D construct. Lucy’s portfolio artwork This multi-dimensional art focuses on illusion, space, material and texture among other elements and principles of art and design. Lucy wanted to shift her more conservative illustrations into something intimate and fun. As she researched and thought about material, she decided on a more modest scale and playful experience for viewers while breaking conventions of a traditional painting. Lucy was always fully engaged and never lost sight of her dream. She had a natural knack for challenging herself with subjects that she may not fully understand or technically not ready for. Lucy’s portfolio artwork Lucy’s portfolio artwork Lucy’s portfolio artwork Her perseverance is exceptional as she always surpasses tests and challenges I would put upon students. At the end, she would come out as a proactive student succeeding with her every venture. Lucy’s portfolio artwork Lucy’s portfolio artwork This is a student that was dedicated to her craft and changed her ways to set forth a successful path. Speaking to her about sacrifice and working hard. Lucy took note and found she could keep art and commit to school as some parents sometimes fear is an impossibility. Lucy like other WCAAD students is an example of a champion as she would balance her time through service and volunteering and an outstanding 4.21weighted /4.0 GPA. Lucy devoted her spare time as an art teacher at the Student League and Art Learning Mission. There she taught Entertainment design, model sketching, as well as fundamental drawing for free! She was also busy as a student athlete at Yorba Linda high school basketball team (a varsity player since sophomore year). She was awarded the JV varsity basketball scholar athlete freshman year. She would design gravity vehicles and model making as well as develop Wright stuff airplane models. She participated in Science Olympiads and had the facility to turn a design into a 3D construct.
