Alice Zhou Wisps of Youth An enchantress attacks. Elegantly waving her arms, she summons a blue wisp; not quite gas nor liquid, having a property of its own. The wisp engulfs her enemies, lulling them to a deadly, eternal sleep. Jenny Guan "Inversion" This garment has been transformed into a jacket resembling trousers and a skirt or hoodie. Inspired by the intricate pleats of the Victorian period, it utilizes tie-dye fabric. This piece shows how clothing can be repurposed and worn in different ways. Angel Zhao "Into the Abyss" The mental state of a woman who undergoes oppression. The hands claw and reach toward her, wishing to control and harm her as she falls into a darkness that seems to have no end. She reaches out, wishing for someone to save her, yet no one responds. (Oil Painting) “Untitled” Untitled uses clay to express a metaphorical reality of the old societal expectations of women: to dress modestly, to be obedient, forbidden from having thoughts or identity. Claire Hwa "Daphne" Loosely based on the Greek myth, in which Daphne is mercifully turned into a laurel tree to escape her pursuer, Apollo. Here she lies for all eternity, buried safely under thick foliage.
