The WCAAD Senior Art Show: Metamorphosis ---- Amy Mao / Kendrick Lee / Victoria Wang / Jenny Guan2/2/2024 "Regret in the Waves" In the sea, debris floats, ensnaring struggling marine life -- fish entangled in plastic bags, their breath stifled by straws. Humans pollute the ocean, harming not just its creatures. I depict humans wrapped in plastic, seemingly safe now, yet the bag tightens. Kendrick Lee “Another Brick in the Wall” Based on the song by Pink Floyd, this piece demonstrates the uniformity of education and the effect on its students. Victoria Wang "Black Cat" This oil painting depicts a scene from Edgar Allan Poe's classic short story "The Black Cat." A one-eyed black cat sits at the center, gazing at you. It seems to be a guardian spirit perched atop the head of a deceased wife. The presence of the cat exudes the mystery and sorrow in Poe's original story. Jenny Guan
"The Resonance" When you firmly believe in something in your heart and try to build a good foundation for it, it will come true. This entire work incorporates warm tones, the dense convenience stickers represent the wings formed by the power of "dreams" and "wishes" and their humble beginnings. Each wing feather carries a hope, as light as a feather, as heavy as a mountain.
