Congratulations to WCAAD Students on Their 2019 College Admissions and Half Million Dollars Scholarship Offers!

100% first-tier college admission rate Again!


All of the six students from 2018-19 Portfolio Preparation Class of West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD) have been accepted into their dream colleges with impressive scholarship offers-total of half million dollars!

Tiffany Kao earned acceptance to the following universities and colleges:

  1.     1.Otis College of Art and Design-Animation with a Presidential Scholarship of $23,000 per year and a total of $92,000;
  2.     2.Ringling College of Art and Design-Animation with a scholarship of $12,000 per year and a total of $48,000;
  3.     3.Art Center College of Design-Illustration with a scholarship of $37,000;
  4.     4.Pratt Institute-Illustration;
  5.     5.USC-Design
  6.     6.Carnegie Mellon University;
  7.     7.UC Davis
  8.     8.UC Riverside
  9.     9.UC Santa Cruz
  10.     10.UC Santa Barbara

She made a decision of selecting Otis--Animation.

Matthew Leung received offers from four prestigious colleges: Pratt Institute, Woodbury University, Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci–Arc) and University of Oregon.
                    
Two universities provide scholarships for him:University of Oregon $4,000/year,total $16,000;Woodbury University $16,000/semester,total $80,000.

Matthew chose Woodbury University-Architecture. He was selected for an extra Counselor Scholarship which totals his scholarship up to $82,500 after he took Woodbury’s offer.




Jason Chiang earned acceptance to Art Center College of Design- Entertainment Design with a scholarship of $7,000 per semester and a total of $56,000. ​

Tina Lu earned acceptance to her dream college-- the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC)-Graphic Design with a scholarship of $18,000 per year and a total of $72,000.

She studied Graphic Design at WCAAD in the portfolio preparation program while attending community college. She is achieving her dream as a transfer student entering her first pick college.

Mingkun Yan earned acceptance to the prestigious Art Center College of Design--Transportation Design, which is a world-class program. ​

They chose West California Academy of Art and Design for its 100% admittance rate. The WCAAD portfolio preparation program helps students with fundamental knowledge of art/design processes, and help them properly arrange their artworks to demonstrate its relevance to the major to which they are applying to.   ​

West California Academy of Art and Design offers college-bound students a unique combination of practical expertise and mentorship to help them develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to choose the right school for them – and get in.  Students will work one-to-one with faculty to develop an intense individual focused and disciplined-specific portfolios. Students can have a productive dialogue with an expert faculty member and fellow students.

This program is especially targeted for students seeking High school Art school admittance, college admittance and college transfers national and international students. It caters to both supplemental and art and design portfolio by using art portfolio that makes them uniquely stand out among others including their peers.

From academic planning, to essay review, to portfolio preparation and creating and presentation, the program provides the advice and information that a student needs to lay the foundation for a rewarding college experience and, eventually, a career in their chosen field — be it an engineer or a professional artist. Whether you require the full range of mentoring services or just one or two, your experience can be tailored to your needs. It’s all about making you the strongest college candidate you can be.
