Congratulation to Jason Chiang on his acceptance to Art Center College of Design entering the 2019 Spring term! Jason got in for Entertainment Design. He received a $7,000 / semester, total of $56,000/4 yrs scholarship for Art center. (图2—Jason Chiang Portfolio Artwork) Jason Chiang recently came back to West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD)to visit the Entertainment Design group and spoke on his first semester and on his first experience of a college critique at Art Center. Jason finished with West California Academy of Art and Design last year and submitted his portfolio for the Spring semester instead of Fall term. Because of the timing in submitting his portfolio at the end of the year and was quickly admitted. (图6—Jason Chiang Portfolio Artwork) WCAAD instructors Omar and Jack invited Jason back to enlighten the group on the aspects of the Art Center’s program. Jason spoke on how his experience and rich background which helped him enter college and succeed. Here at the Academy, he spoke on taking advantage on the WCAAD’s resources and instructors. He presented his work to new students and gave his perspective as someone who went through the portfolio program with successful results. “Jason is one of the hardest working students that I have had the pleasure to work with,” Omar, WCAAD portfolio preparation instructor, said, “his work ethic, receptive nature and commitment to his future career has been an advantage on his path.” Jason’s sister, 10 years older than him, started learning art at WCAAD at the age of 7. She earned acceptance to Art Center—Industrial Design in 2008. She graduated in 2012 and currently she is working for Boeing as a senior designer. Jason followed his sister’s steps and got into his dream college too. He chose West California Academy of Art and Design for its 100% admittance rate. The WCAAD portfolio preparation program helps students with fundamental knowledge of art/design processes, and help them properly arrange their artworks to demonstrate its relevance to the major to which they are applying to. Students work one-to-one with faculty to develop an intense individual focused and disciplined-specific portfolios. From academic planning, to essay review, to portfolio preparation and creating and presentation, the Academy provides the advice and information that a student needs to lay the foundation for a rewarding college experience and, eventually, a career in their chosen field. The Academy provides a summer intensive program for portfolio preparation every year and 2019 Summer Portfolio Preparation Class is now open for enrollment.
