9 Students from West California Academy of Art and Design Won 2018 Paint the Future Art Contest11/1/2018 The 2018 Paint the Future Art Contest Award Ceremony was held by Chinese Institute of Engineers-SoCal at the Diamond Bar Holiday Inn on October 13, 2018. 9 students from West California Academy of Art and Design won the contest. This year’s contest theme is “My Future Neighborhood.” Contestants are required to provide a short description as “I have noticed a problem in my neighborhood, and it is…”and “One way I can solve this problem is…” The contest opened to students of K-8 Grade, and the WCAAD winners are---- Eric Song, 10 years old: Inventing flying cars to solve the traffic problem; using Medi-robot to solve the medication problems. Alisa Chang, 10 years old: Using scientific technology to solve the water wasting problem and to better protect the environment. Angel Zhao, 13 years old: Planting and caring for everything around us to solve the problem of that everything nature-wise is slowly dying and fading away. Jenna Vuong, 9 years old: Inventing Water Transforming Pelican Robot to transfer water from flooded states to drought states. Angie Li, 8 years old: Inventing a recycling facility to turn trash into a playground and water park; inventing a multitask robot to make the neighborhood better. Brandon Clark, 7 years old: Traveling with hot air balloons to solve the traffic and air pollution problems; using steel frames to solve the lumber waste problem; building fish tanks to solve the global warming problem. Jaylen Lin, 7 years old: Inventing firefighter-robots to solve the dangerous working condition problem for human firefighters. Amy Song, 7 years old: Using robotic teachers and teleportation technology to solve the teacher shortage and low study efficiency problems. Symone Teng, 5 years old: Creating an underwater society to solve the traffic and air pollution problems.
