The Arts-Tech Poster Contest Award Ceremony was held at Hilton Hotel San Gabriel on the evening of April 14, 2019. 4 students from West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD)won the contest. Jason Liu 《Art and Technology》, Age 14,1st Place with $300 Scholarship Irene Xue, 《Future 2066》, Age 11, 2nd Place with $200 Scholarship Jason Lin, 《Behind the Scenes of Physics》, Age 14, 3rd Place with $100 Scholarship Charlie Li《Art & Technology》, Age 14, 3rd Place with $100 Scholarship To promote the fusion of arts and science/technology, the Chinese-American Engineers and Scientists Association of Southern California (CESASC) and Cultural Foundation of Zhendai He USA (CFZDH) jointly launched this poster contest. Entries must integrate innovative technologies for sustainability and cultural and arts elements related to the Forbidden City or Mogao Caves. Total of 5 winners were selected by judges and WCAAD students swept 4 of them.
“Creativity is the key for the survival of the next generation and art training programs act as a catalyst for children’s creativity,” Lei Wang, the Principal of West California Academy of Art and Design, said, “training in the arts is training for everything important, building up the stepping-stone for our youth to reach their full potential.”
