38 WCAAD Students Won Koala Know Cup Children’s Live Drawing Contest

The Koala Know Cup Children’s Live Drawing Contest award ceremony was held in City of Industry on the evening of Sept. 28.  Students from West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD) swept top awards，including Aden Li, 8 years old, winning the only Best Visual Effect Award.

The 1st Place winners include: Chloe Shyu for Age Group 6-8，Ella Chan for Age Group 9-11，Melissa Guo for Age Group 12-15，Sydney Liao for Age group 16+。

The 2nd Place winners include: Sophia Nguyen and Verna Liu for Age Group 3-5；Melanie Zhang and Stella Fang for Age Group 6-8； Freya Fu and Claire Li for Age Group 9-11； Carissa Zhang and Jessica Qiu for Age Group 12-15. The 3rd Place winners include: Ariston Zhang for Age Group 3-5，Helen Xu, Maggie Shen and Raymond Li for Age Group 6-8， Jeremy Wang, Hayley Wu and Weixi Liu for Age Group 9-11. The Best Color Award winners include: Jayden Cao for Age Group 3-5，Laurence Earley for Age Group 6-8，Jerry Li for Age Group 9-11； The Best Creativity Award winners include: Albert Tang for Age Group 3-5，Kevin Yuan for Age Group 6-8，Alan Liao for Age Group 9-11，Lisa Chang for Age Group 12-15； The Best Composition Award winners include: Kelly Yeung for Age Group 3-5，Elsa Jiang for Age Group 6-8，Felicia Dong for Age Group 12-15； The Best Skill Award winners include: Rachel Wang for Age Group 3-5，Cody Li for Age Group 6-8，Isabella Dong for Age Group 12-15； The Best Story Award winners include: Qiuyao Chen for Age Group 6-8，Angie Li for Age Group 9-11；The Best Imagination Award winners include: Julian Zhao  for Age Group 6-8，Lillian Li for Age Group 9-11，Kristy Peng for Age Group 12-15.

The Koala Know Cup Children’s Live Drawing Contest was held on July 20, 2019.  More than 100 children ages 3-16 took active part in the contest themed Space Journey and Koala.

Koala and Space are two of the children’s favorite elements for artworks.  This contest encouraged children to express their imagination through art, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of man’s first landing on the moon. ​

Winners were selected for Age Group 3-5, Age Group 6-8, Age Group 9-11, Age Group 12-15, Age Group 16+. One 1st Place Award, two 2nd Place Awards, three 3rd Place Awards were selected for each age group. One Best Live Drawing Visual Effect Award was selected from all entries.
