WCAAD student Laurraine Guo earned acceptance to the very prestigious Rhode Island School of Design—Apparel Design in 2016. “I will always remember the afternoon when I received the email from RISD notifying me of my acceptance to the school. I could hardly believe what I read. It was the best moment in my life! I feel lucky that I have made a right decision to choose West California Academy of Art and Design to help prepare my portfolio, which obviously sets me apart from other candidates! It was very intense and challenging to get a strong portfolio done within four months. WCAAD student Tina Lu earned acceptance to School of the Art Institute of Chicago – Graphic Design in 2019 with a scholarship of totaling $72,000 for 4 academic years. “School of the Art Institute of Chicago is my dream college and Graphic Design is my dream major. Graphic design can be powerful because it is a universal language that can help you to connect with other people without the criteria as pronunciation or grammar using as our spoken language. This program is highly competitive and I need more creative projects and a stronger portfolio. I chose West California Academy of Art and Design for its visionary and experienced team of instructors, who helped me to think uniquely when designing as well as developing my personal identity in art.” -----Tina Lu WCAAD student Alan Jiang earned an acceptance to the very prestigious Art Center College of Design in 2017 with a scholarship of $64,000. “My educational goal was always to attend Art Center College of Design and earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration. It was the only school I ever wanted to attend. West California Academy of Art and Design helped me to become a better artist by enhancing my skill and artistry. They helped me build a strong portfolio. They made my dream come true.” -----Alan Jiang WCAAD student Cattleya Wu was accepted to Savanah College of Art and Design (SCAD)—Animation in 2018 with a Merit Scholarship of $11,000. “I want to be an animator and Savanah College of Art and Design is my dream school. I needed a strong portfolio that demonstrates why I am an outstanding candidate. My experience at West California Academy of Art and Design has given me the ability to adapt styles and create a fascinating world with characters that I have been developing in my sketchbook. I have learned how a strong foundation can lead to individual style evolution.” ----Cattleya Wu WCAAD student Qianhui Lin was accepted to Otis College of Art and design in 2016. Her entrance portfolio was rewarded with a scholarship of $15,000. “I chose West California Academy of Art and Design for my final push in college application and portfolio preparation. My work demonstrates a clear illustrated portfolio with aesthetics and communicative approaches, able to show case a well rounded art and design education. I’m very thankful to the Academy’s tutors, who made my portfolio exemplary to my peers!” ----Qianhui Lin WCAAD student Steve You earned acceptance to the prestigious Pratt Institute –Architecture in 2018 with a scholarship of $26,000 per academic year. “Pratt Institute—Architecture is my first choice. It is a highly competitive program and I know I must distinguish myself from other applicants by building a portfolio that best represent my skill, interest and creativity. That’s why I chose West California Academy of Art and Design to hone my skill and prepare my portfolios. I made a right decision.
