Color Pencil Workshop for Summer
Some students have already taken advantage of the fantastic online classes with successful outcomes. West California Academy of Art and Design (WCAAD) encourages students who have not yet enrolled to participate in this enrichment program that is as nurturing as the in-person classes. The Academy now offers online Color Pencil Workshop for 2020 summer.

Online Art Classes

COVID 19 Special!
Dear West California Academy of Art and Design Parents,
During this pandemic our online teaching courses have begun and we have experienced a massive number of interest.
For clarity, in regards of tuition for online class during the epidemic, the Academy will charge at half price based on the original price instead of discount price when enrolled. Our Academy will not double discount. The online course tuition must be paid in a 12-class package at one time. For those who have already paid for regular classes, the online class tuition will be directly deducted from the payment left.
At this time, we would like to have students be in a group setting with instructor to experience real classroom virtual setting. We have required instructors to open classes with a minimum of two students per class, therefore, the instructors might need to temporarily adjust some students’ class schedule to fit in a group setting. One on one online instruction can still be an option but, student will be charged full price based on the original tuition rate.
We’d like to remind everyone that we are providing the same rigor and doing our best to accommodate our community with the same fun curriculum.

Laurraine Guo earned acceptance to the very prestigious (RISD) Rhode Island School of Design in 2016. She came to us very late in the portfolio building class, and asked if it was possible to create a portfolio within four months. Saying yes to the challenge, our school successfully helped her realize her dream.
I studied drawing and painting during high school about two years, but when I tried to apply for Art Center College of Design on my own, I did not get accepted. I realized I lacked figure drawing and needed more creative projects and a stronger portfolio. Thanks to Omar, he is very professional West California Academy of Art and Design teacher, and helped me find my own way in art, without his help, I would have needed much more time to get accepted.

Yihang Ying was accepted to Art Center College of Design in Spring 2017. Before he chose our school for portfolio preparation he tried to apply for Art Center College of Design on his own but failed. After one year’s study at our portfolio preparation class, he successfully got accepted by his dream college.
