Since 1980 the County Library has conducted the contest to encourage children’s artistic expression, nurture their love of reading and allow them to share their joy of books and the written word. The contest is open to students from kindergarten to 12th grade whose entries are judged in separate categories according to grade level.
Each year the bookmark contest has a particular theme. This year’s is “What’s Your Story?” which highlights the inspirations that books and reading can bring to people. All of the children created original bookmarks designs that described their love of books, reading and the library.
This is the preliminary round of the contest and the 1st Place winners will join the county level contest to compete for the final winners.
