Since she began at the Academy at age 6, Isabel has passed through levels with great admiration from her teachers demonstrated passion, commitment, and desire to stay the course and pursue a possible difficult challenge in the art world. Despite what may have seemed at one time a stretch, I have witnessed a never-ending quest for education in all aspects. From a shy and introverted student to a very vocal and confident student. She was upgraded to my portfolio class reserved for high school students early at age 11 showing promise and natural talent. Despite the overwhelming difficulty and age gap, Isabel was always open to learn new methods, welcomed critiques, and her “self-improve attitude”, have taken her a long way. She was admitted by the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts at the age of 14. She has gone beyond her limits and showed motivation to take what once was a hobby, far and beyond. Her work ethic and resilience are what stands out above others. Isabel has been a stellar student with enthusiasm especially in the entertainment design class to carry all projects to quality level. Isabel’s relationship with others is notable as she is admittedly shy, but it is when she does participate that resonates. She is someone who will step aside and allow others to shine. She is always willing to be open and help where she can. Now, she loves to mentor the younger students and give out welcoming and valuable advice and she wants to engage her arts community and become a leader. Isabel is always assisting students with helpful comments that are analytical and noteworthy. Isabel also cares deeply about animals is part of the Endangered Species and volunteers at Priceless Pets animal rescue, she is part of the French Club as the treasurer, IDOT, Leo Club, Diamond Tones as part of the choir, and Comic for Causes and she balances her academic and extracurricular activities. She loves sharing her talents including, graphic artwork, poster displays and organizes fundraising. Here she won various awards, including certificate from the Governor. Her most recent activity is organizing our first senior art show where she stayed past hours setting up with me and others until all was ready for the opening.
